Oval topaz gold pendant
Natalie came to me at the end of 2025 with a gift voucher and a much-loved but sadly broken topaz gold ring.
The original topaz is a a beautiful 'Swiss blue' colour with a faceted bottom but smooth cabochon top. Not a cut I'd seen before but I was assured by the lapidarist I work with that it's quite common!
Whilst the topaz was off for repair I sourced a stunning large, pale blue oval aquamarine to fit back into the ring's original setting (the original topaz would be too small once re-cut).

The topaz required careful removal so as not to damage the stone further, and also so the setting would still be usable for the new aquamarine.
With my freshly sharpened graver I took my time, nibbling away at the edges of the setting until the topaz was loose enough to remove. The new aquamarine fitted like a glove!
We decided on a simple pendant for the topaz, also set in 9ct yellow gold with a jump ring bail and a highly polished finish.
I make all my pendants with adjustable chains so they can be worn at 16 or 18 inches in length. Perfect for layering!
