I hope you all had a wonderful, restful festive break? I did very little over Christmas and New Year which is exactly what I had hoped for. It took me a few days to properly wind down, but I now feel ready to start the new year refreshed and excited for what a new decade will bring for my business. It’s that time of year (almost) when it seems that there are fairs, exhibitions and events going on everywhere! It’s difficult knowing which ones are worth going to, but I can highly recommend the Made In Bristol Gift Fairs in the Colston Hall. It has been running for quite a few years now and is highly successful in a fantastic venue. It was a delight to be given the opportunity to re-set this stunning ruby! Originally set in a pendant, it had been lost and replaced with another ruby pendant…and then – as is the way of these things – found again! These earrings are a follow up from a previous commission to re-purpose some old gold rings into a new wedding band. The gold was melted down and formed into 2mm square wire with plenty to make a wedding ring and have some leftover for a future project.
So it brought a smile to my face to hear from Hannah again about using the rest of her gold for her mum’s birthday this summer!
