Australian green-yellow cushion cut sapphire ring with client's diamonds and gold

Bespoke shaped diamond wedding band to fit sapphire engagement ring
I was lucky enough to make this engagement ring at the end of last year AND then have it back on my bench this month to make a bespoke shaped wedding band!
As we were repurposing my client's gold rings and diamonds, we chatted through the options on how to make the most of the materials we had - what carat of gold to refine the gold into, the pros and cons and colours of each.
After careful consideration we decided the best use of the gold was to refine it all into 9ct yellow gold which would provide not only enough gold for the engagement ring but also both wedding bands at a later date.
This is a process I put careful thought into so that my client's can make an informed decision on how to best use their precious sentimental jewellery.

My client, Lydia, wanted to reuse her diamonds but was keen for a more unusual cut and colour of sapphire. This is probably my favourite bit of the commission process - sapphire shopping!
I'm lucky to have a few trusted ethical suppliers and was able to present a few options to choose from with Lydia settling on this incredible Australian green-yellow cushion cut sapphire. It's a beauty!

We knew at the outset that this engagement ring design would require a shaped wedding band. And as Lydia had some diamonds going spare, we decided a little accent around the gentle curve of the wedding band would finish the set off just perfectly!
I do love a ring that makes a statement without being over the top. Jewellery can be incredibly personal and it's great to make something that's a true expression of a person's style and personality

The rings arrived safely yesterday and Adam and I are so pleased, they’re exactly what we’d pictured.
Thank you again - you've made the whole process a complete dream and we couldn't be happier with the rings!
