This was a lovely commission that really made the most of all the materials my client's had.
Ellen and Martin came to me with a beautiful sapphire engagement ring, a very nice - but far too small - wedding band and some family heirloom gold rings.
They knew that they need a shaped wedding ring to fit around the sapphire, and a much bigger wedding band for Martin but keeping the same hammered, textured finish in rose gold.
I was able to talk them through the options and how to make the most of the gold they had. We decided that Ellen would have a yellow gold wedding ring to contrast her rose gold engagement ring.
I then used the remaining gold ring to resize Martin's wedding band - melting it all together to form 9ct rose gold and then re-creating the wide hammered wedding ring.

Leftover gold for pendants and earrings
Ellen wanted to use the diamonds in her wedding band so I carefully flush set those around the point to accentuate the shape. They were just the perfect size!

The sapphires, remaining two diamonds and leftover gold went into two sapphire pendants and some gold stud earrings as bridal jewellery for Ellen and a gift for the mother of the bride.
The sapphires were quite different in shape and size which actually made for a lovely matching but individual pair of pendants.

If you have some jewellery that you'd like made into something new please drop me a line.
