Well, what to say. It’s been a strange start to the year hasn’t it? Ironically, March is the first month this year when I’ve not been ill! Just the usual seasonal bugs brought home from my daughter’s school, but they’ve given me a strong desire not to get ill again. Not that I’ll have a choice in it.
At the moment life doesn’t feel too dramatically different for me. I work from home anyway, and I am still able to walk the dog, go to my local shops (albeit in a strange new world of shouting my order across a blocked doorway) and drop parcels at the Post Office. But I am staying at home a lot more than normal and am very conscious of keeping my distance when out with the dog. Though I do like to shout a hello or talk to people from 2 metres away, it helps to make the whole situation feel less alien. The strangest thing so far is having my husband at home every day!
I hope you all had a wonderful, restful festive break? I did very
little over Christmas and New Year which is exactly what I had hoped
for. It took me a few days to properly wind down, but I now feel ready
to start the new year refreshed and excited for what a new decade will
bring for my business. Are you raring to go, or still slowly building
yourself back up? January can be such a tough month!
Yep. It’s October and it’s my first blog post of the year! *hangs head in shame*
In my defence, it is a Peacock year! Not sure what that is? Why it’s the Peacock Arts Trail which runs every other year and I help organise. It keeps me very very busy! It is a wonderful thing to be involved in and I wouldn’t have it any other way…but it does mean that my usual poor effort at updating my website slips even lower.
It’s that time of year (almost) when it seems that there are fairs, exhibitions and events going on everywhere! It’s difficult knowing which ones are worth going to, but I can highly recommend the Made In Bristol Gift Fairs in the Colston Hall. It has been running for quite a few years now and is highly successful in a fantastic venue. There is always a great range of high quality handmade goods making it perfect for sorting your Christmas/birthday shopping all in one go or collecting a range of business cards for future reference.
It was a delight to be given the opportunity to re-set this stunning ruby! Originally set in a pendant, it had been lost and replaced with another ruby pendant…and then – as is the way of these things – found again! So rather than have two ruby pendants, my customer decided to have it transformed into a ring.
