Happy New Year, 2020

I hope you all had a wonderful, restful festive break? I did very little over Christmas and New Year which is exactly what I had hoped for. It took me a few days to properly wind down, but I now feel ready to start the new year refreshed and excited for what a new decade will bring for my business. Are you raring to go, or still slowly building yourself back up? January can be such a tough month!

The end of 2019 –

I had a wonderfully busy time for the last few months of 2019 and so I want to say thank you so much to those who support small, independent businesses such as mine. As always, I am slightly higgedly-piggedly with my approach to designing new pieces – I make whatever pops into my head, whenever I find the time to squeeze it in! – but I was thrilled that some of my new designs were embraced wholeheartedly and led to some lovely bespoke versions. In particular my new ‘dot’ rings have been really well received and I’m planning to develop these into more of a ‘collection’ this year. Watch this space.

Recent work –

Here are just a few of my recent commissions –

Keeping in touch –

If you’re expecting to hear from me this month, I promise I will be in touch very soon! I’ve been having a massive de-clutter of my house this week which has slightly delayed me but has felt really necessary for helping to clear my head. And, as always, I really must tidy my bench. But I’m nearly there, my hands have recovered from that busy Christmas period and my bench is calling…

Do follow me on Instagram or Facebook to stay up to date with what’s currently on my bench. I’ve been sketching this morning and am really looking forward to creating this new bespoke version of one of my Simplicity Collection rings.

Thanks for reading to the end, you lovely person.

Recycled Yellow Gold Peridot Earrings

Commission: Recycled Gold Peridot Earrings

These earrings are a follow up from a previous commission to re-purpose some old gold rings into a new wedding band. The gold was melted down and formed into 2mm square wire with plenty to make a wedding ring and have some leftover for a future project.

So it brought a smile to my face to hear from Hannah again about using the rest of her gold for her mum’s birthday this summer! I was told her mum loved green which couldn’t be more perfect as the combination of yellow gold and green gemstones is stunning. Continue reading “Commission: Recycled Gold Peridot Earrings”

18ct Recycled White Gold Wishbone Shaped Wedding Band

Commission: Wishbone Shaped 18ct White Gold Wedding Band

It was lovely to see this diamond ring back on my bench for a clean and polish as well as matching it to a bespoke shaped wedding band. The ring had worn very well and has clearly been looked after as cleaning and polishing was a quick job!

I originally made the diamond ring quite some time ago from 18ct Fairtrade white gold with an ethically sourced large white diamond. Like so many engagement ring, the diamond sits wider than the band and so required a wedding band specially shaped to fit. Following a consultation with Continue reading “Commission: Wishbone Shaped 18ct White Gold Wedding Band”
